Senior School Trips

There are extensive educational visits and trips throughout the academic year to supplement our broad curriculum including a wide range of field trips to local rivers, historical sites such as Porchester Castle, Southsea Castle and the D-Day museum. We also venture further afield to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Harry Potter Studio Tours and a yearly theatre trip to The West End. Each trip is designed to enhance the work in the classroom and to ensure children understand the wider world in which they live.

Each September Years 6,7,8 visit Woodmill Outdoor Centre to undertake a team building day; this day is designed to teach the children the importance of working together to overcome barriers; a key skill in their understanding of Growth Mindset.

Senior pupils also benefit from a residential trip in the Summer Term. This is a hugely anticipated trip which includes kayaking, sailing, caving, rock climbing and the infamous ‘Leap of Faith’ on a high ropes course. It is a chance for the pupils to show learn new skills and a time to remember how far they have come in their personal journeys at Boundary Oak School. The benefits of such trips are clear to see as the children always return with renewed vigour, ready to share their stories with younger year groups through their Trip Assembly which parents are invited to.
