Government Funded Hours

Children aged three and four years old can claim their funded hours at Boundary Oak School from the term after their third birthday. EYE funded hours can be claimed against all hours that our Pre-School is open, from 08:00-16:00 during term time. Early Years Funding (EYE) hours are accepted up to 30 free hours. As our Pre-School pupils receive a range of lessons delivered by specialist teachers, including French, PE, outdoor learning and music, there will be an enhanced provision charge of £2.20 for every funded hour claimed by children eligible for the EYE Grant during our core hours. If you wish to opt out of this top up fee then please speak to your admissions team.

As your child progresses from our Pre-School and moves up in to our Reception class you will be able to claim 15 funded hours off your academic school fees until the term that your child turns 5.

VAT on Fees

Many current and prospective parents will be aware that the government has confirmed that VAT at 20% will be applied to all fees payable from 1 January 2025.

To mitigate the impact of this increase on our current and future families, Boundary Oak has committed to absorbing a portion of the VAT cost. We have carefully considered the financial implications and have plans to only introduce approximately a 9% overall cost increase on the tuition fee in January 2025. There will be no further increases for the remainder of the academic year.

This decision is made possible by our strong financial position and the support of Globeducate. Thanks to their backing, we can continue to invest in our school facilities, building on significant recent investment, and the breadth and quality of the education we offer.

Despite the challenges faced by the independent school sector, we remain confident in our ability to adapt and thrive. We’re closely monitoring the government’s plans and will provide further updates to parents in early October.

Please note: The fees include the provision of textbooks and stationery but not the cost of major travel items such as exchanges, school trips and field study courses; the cost is included in the tuition fees and may be subject to change. Boundary Oak will endeavour to restrict the fee increases, however, when such increases take place they are normally effective from September. Fees are due to be paid before the first day of each term. Boundary Oak reserve the right to charge interest on fees that are overdue. One term’s written notice (to be given no later than the first day of that term) must be given before the withdrawal of a child or one term’s fees will need to be paid in lieu of noticeLikewise, a full term’s notice in writing is expected if instrumental music and/or drama tuition is to be discontinued. A school place is not confirmed until a Â£500 (UK) or £1,000 (International) deposit is received along with a completed Registration Form.

Please see below information on our School Refund Scheme and School Insurance. Our Fees in Advance Scheme is available upon request. If you require further information please contact the Bursar.
