Welcome to Boundary Oak School

COVID-19 – Update for current pupils.

On Wednesday 18th March, the UK Government announced the temporary closure of all schools as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Although our physical doors are currently closed to non key worker pupils, we have remodelled our school curriculum and all virtual learning tools are now place to allow the continuity of education for all our pupils, throughout the school community. The first day of virtual learning will begin on Monday 23rd March. This will remain in place until further notice, following advice from the UK Government and the Department of Education. Key worker children are welcome on school site where staff are ready to welcome you for lessons.

The Spring Term will end as planned on Friday 27th March for Easter Holidays. Summer term will begin on Tuesday 21st April, whether that be virtually or physically. During this holiday period our holiday club provider, Fit for Sport, will provide care for key worker children should they require it. You can find out more information regarding this here:

We will continue to update our school community regularly.

We thank you, wholeheartedly, for your continued support.

However, our admissions department is still very much open, and we encourage families who are interested in joining our school to get in touch with our admissions team on email at or by calling 07947 791774. We will follow up within 24 hours and are on hand to provide information, offer a virtual tour or video meet, answer any questions that you may have and to help you with anything that you may need.

Please note, we have updated our admissions process which has been tailored according to Government advice on social distancing. We are continuing to process new applications to the school throughout this period ready for new pupils wishing to join the school in Summer term of 2020 as well as for September 2020 entry.

“We are very proud of our school and pupils. Our recent ISI inspection graded our pupils’ attitude to learning, communication skills and all aspects of their personal development as ‘Excellent’- the highest grade.” James Polansky, Headmaster

Located among 30 acres of beautiful, English countryside with fields, woods and stunning views, Boundary Oak School is a magical setting for children’s education. Steeped in history, our Grade II listed main building, Roche Court, was built by Peter de Roches, in the 13th Century.

Boundary Oak takes pride in its strong family ethos and the personalised learning it provides. This is a community of learning built upon mutual trust between teachers and pupils with a strong, shared sense of purpose and a commitment, to high standards driven by enthusiasm.

We look to foster an intellectual curiosity to develop freedom of thought and expression and support our pupils to take responsibility for their personal and collective learning. Central to our ethos at Boundary Oak is our aim to promote a love for learning in all our pupils. We do this by not only equipping them with lifelong skills, but by encouraging and developing their passions.

The world is full of wonder and potential. The breadth and depth of our knowledge-rich curriculum and the range of adventures and co-curricular activities we offer, ensure that our pupils our equipped to seize the opportunities and follow their dreams.

We are very proud of our school and pupils. Our last ISI inspection graded our pupils’ attitude to learning, communication skills and all aspects of their personal development as “Excellent”. We look to instil in our pupils the values we hold dear, our 7 Rs: be Respectful, Responsible, Reflective, Responsive, Resourceful, Resilient and Relentless.

Boundary Oak School is an amazing place for your child to learn, grow and develop; it’s a very special community that my family and I are honoured to be part of.

James Polansky, MA (Cantab) PGCE
