Boundary Oak Girls dance their way to the finals!

Matilda H and Imogen L performed at the British Art Awards semi finals at the end of last term. Both girls, who are in Years 2 and 4 and Boundary Oak School, competed at the preliminary round back in January where they had to score honours to get through to the regional semi finals. Imogen and Matilda were both successful in scoring honours, with Matilda taking 6 dances through to the semi finals.

The semi finals saw a high standard of dancers from across the region with the girls needing to score 85 marks or more to gain a merit certificate and be short listed for the finals. Both girls did brilliantly with Matilda gaining a merit certificate in two of her dances, her Irish Solo, performing under Forrestall School of Irish Dancing and her Modern Duet with dance partner Alayla from Mandaleigh Dance Studios where Matilda trains in ballet and modern dance.Boundary Oak School Club
Only the top scoring short listed dancers will go through to the British Arts Awards Finals to be held in London 6th-8th May. We wait now to hear if Matilda and Imogen have made the finals and are to compete against the top scoring dancers in the country! Good luck and a massive well done girls!
Update Thursday 21st April:
Out of hundreds of dancers, Matilda has made the British Arts Awards Finals in both her Irish Solo and Modern Duet! Matilda will compete in London on Saturday 7th May 2016.
