A Multicultural Education at Boundary Oak School

Boundary Oak is a place where we understand that learning means so much more than just reading, writing and arithmetic. We understand the importance of giving our children a multicultural education, to enable them to embrace differences and grow. Our Multicultural Week has been the culmination of this education. Children from Spain, Russia, France and Slovakia have had the opportunity to share their different cultures with our children whilst our children have led the way in showing what it means to be British. Children have taken part in all manner of lessons, working together to overcome any language barriers; particularly important when dramatizing a story or building solar ovens. The finale of the week is a Sports Activity Day which will see all of the children from Y6-8 joining together, in international teams, to take part in American football, rounders and football. Jessica Johns summed it all up when she said that it had been a ‘crazy but fun week’.
