Match Report: Girls Netball vs Oakwood

Close fought win for our U8 and U9 girls’ netball

The first proper netball game of the season for our Year 3 & 4 girls saw Boundary Oak take on a determined Oakwood side.  After a quick warm up the girls took up their positions and worked hard in both attack and defence, remembering our work on space and movement.  With Katie and Tilly combining well up front and Imogen on hand to distribute the ball, we took an early lead, but impressive work by the Oakwood shooters put them 2-1 up at the half way stage.  More good passing and shooting saw Boundary Oak take a 3-2 lead in the third quarter and some great defending by Lily-Ann and Amelia kept the opposition out for the final quarter.  Final score: 3-2 to Boundary Oak.  Both teams were evenly matched and the game could have gone either way.  Oakwood were fantastic hosts as ever and the girls gained much from the valuable match experience.  Well done girls for your smiles, hard work and enthusiasm!
